I love how you describe opening the windows between your fantasy worlds and real interaction. It makes me want to try out integrating more storytelling into scening. And I closed my eyes and imagined the illuminated mermaids and glinting chain... Thank you.

Sickness and other suffering and imperfection: I don't think it is so much a question of either-or: either ignore the imperfections or focus on them only. I think it is a question of being aware that all experiences we have are, among other attributes, not perfect.

Beautiful post. For the past six weeks, my submissive partner (husband) has been suffering with a damaged lumbar disc, an injury he sustained at work just after Thanksgiving. For most of that time, sex or any kind of play has been impossible. The pain and diagnosis/recovery period is likely to last many more weeks if not months.

I find, like the scene you describe, that we have had to be creative, forgiving of ourselves and each other, and patient. The partial role reversal has been awkward at times, and a source of distress for bbenn. Fantasy and imagination, desire... these are still alive and well. We have to focus on the fact that some of what we can do is still fun, still exciting and kinky, and still expresses the love and devotion that our relationship is all about.

Glad you are feeling better.

Thanks, everyone. I'm feeling fine these days, but I do need to start eating better and not running myself so ragged all the time.

I also have to thank you, May; it helps me understand you better.

Alexis, I would be fascinated to learn more about what you think of me.

I like how you share how organic your scenes are. They grow out of everyday situations. I should definitely keep this is mind the next time my husband is sick. ;)

I also have to thank you, May; it helps me understand you better. It is a bitch that our bodies are not as strong as our minds. I hope that she recreates all that you have written (with different details, of course) when you are well.

I should show this to anyone who questions whether D/s-y stuff can be sweet and affectionate and romantic.

Hope you're feeling less sick.
